Domaine Laurent Tribut
Laurent Tribut entered the world of winemaking through his marriage to Marie-Clotilde Dauvissat, daughter of René Dauvissat. Early on, the Dauvissat family had invested in excellent vineyards in Chablis. Laurent and Marie-Clotilde seized that opportunity with both hands and built their own wine domaine. Their domaine covers 5 hectares of vineyards, where Tribut produces modest quantities of Chablis. Meanwhile, their daughter Solange is also active as winemaker within the domaine, continuing the family tradition.
For many years, Tribut vinified its wines in the cellars of Dauvissat, but today works from Poinchy, just outside Chablis. The production method, however, remains true to Dauvissat’s style. Manual harvest, fermentation in temperature-controlled enamelled tanks and maturation partly in old oak barrels. The wines undergo a light filtering shortly before bottling, which ensures their purity and finesse.
Tribut’s wines are known for their fresh and lively character, with delicate citrus aromas, spicy apple flavours and beautiful balance. The Premier Cru wines are more complex, with roasted notes and citrusy accents. They reach their full potential after four to five years of ageing. Even the Chablis Village needs several years to reach its full potential. All wines are bottled in-house and find their way to wine lovers throughout Europe, Japan and the United States.
