Domaine Billaud Simon

Domaine Billaud-Simon is an established name in Chablis. Its history dates back to 1815, when Charles Louis Noël Billaud planted the first vines. Over the centuries, the domaine grew, with a major expansion in the 1930s thanks to the marriage of Jean Billaud and Renée Simon, two influential families from the region.

Today, the domaine is run by Bernard Billaud, who left for Paris at a young age to pursue a career as an artist. In 1991, he returned to Chablis with a clear mission: to create wines that reflect the essence of the terroir in a refined and classic way. His dedication and craftsmanship have allowed Billaud-Simon to establish itself as one of the most respected producers in Chablis.

The domaine has around 20 hectares of vineyards, including some of the most prestigious terroirs in the region. Grand Cru plots include Blanchots, Les Clos, Les Preuses and Vaudésir, while the domaine also owns impressive Premier Cru vineyards such as Fourchaume, Mont de Milieu, Montée de Tonnerre and Vaillons.

Thanks to a combination of old vines, a precise vinification process and minimal filtration, wines are produced here that are both elegant and flawlessly pure. Already a pleasure to drink when young, but with a remarkable character that is ready for storage. These wines develop beautifully with age and are among the absolute best in Chablis.
