Domaine Bernard Millot

Domaine Bernard Millot is located in Meursault, right in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. This is one of Burgundy’s most prestigious wine regions. The domaine is currently run by Emilien Millot, the fifth generation of Millot to work the vineyards with his family. Emilien has been working with his parents, Bernard and Sylvie, since 2010. His young son is also already involved in the family business. The domaine has 8 hectares of vineyards spread across Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Beaune. Millot’s goal is to reflect the unique terroir and character of each vintage in a vibrant and authentic way in his wines.

Millot works according to biodynamic principles, with work in the vineyard following the rhythms of nature: from pruning and trimming to thinning, all by hand and in tune with the seasons. This intensive process requires up to nine different jobs each year. Often in the evenings, to take the best care of the grapes and the vineyards. The soil is ploughed regularly to avoid the use of herbicides. The grapes are always harvested by hand so that only the best quality grapes reach the cellar.

To adapt to the challenges of climate change, Millot planted a new plot with Syrah, a grape that is more drought-resistant than the more sensitive Pinot Noir, in March 2022. However, these wines are not allowed to call themselves Bourgogne because Syrah is not allowed in the region. So they are marketed as ‘Vin de France’, but they still reflect the philosophy and craftsmanship of Domaine Bernard Millot.

With their biodynamic approach and commitment to vibrant wines that reflect each year’s terroir and weather conditions, Domaine Bernard Millot produces wines that combine both Burgundy’s past and its future.
