Hubert Lamy

Domaine Hubert Lamy is located in Saint-Aubin, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. The family has been involved in winemaking since 1640, but it was Hubert Lamy who founded the current domain in 1973. Today his son Olivier is at the helm, and under his leadership the domain grew into one of the appellation’s leading names.

The estate comprises some 18 hectares of vineyards, mainly in Saint-Aubin, but also in appellations such as Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay. Most of it is planted with Chardonnay, but some beautiful Pinot Noirs are also produced. The diversity of terroirs – from higher, cool plots to south-facing slopes – gives the wines excitement and depth.

The vineyards are worked with great care and respect for nature. Yields are deliberately kept low and harvesting is done entirely by hand. In the cellar, Olivier Lamy opts for precision and craftsmanship: fermentation with indigenous yeasts and patient aging in oak barrels, keeping the proportion of new wood limited to preserve the freshness and purity of the wines.

Hubert Lamy’s style is characterised by liveliness, minerality and finesse. Saint-Aubin is among the appellation’s absolute best and is all too often mistaken for a Puligny-Montrachet when tasted blind. These are wines with energy, length and character, which at the same time remain true to their origins and bear the signature of the Lamy family.
