Domaine Vocoret et fils
The Vocoret family is one of the oldest wine families in Chablis. Founded in 1870 by Édouard Vocoret, Domaine Vocoret has been run as a family business for four generations. The goal has always been to work with respect for terroir and tradition. The result is classic Chablis wines that come from muddy limestone slopes.
In the first and second generations, the winery grew steadily and established itself on the Route d’Auxerre on the outskirts of Chablis, where it is still located today. The third generation, represented by brothers Michel and Claude, continued to expand the property. Their sons have since taken over: Jérôme, Michel’s son, manages the vineyards, while Patrice, Claude’s son, is responsible for winemaking and commercial activities. Sylvain, Patrice’s brother, also joined a few years ago and supports the work in the vineyards.
Today, the vineyard covers around 40 hectares, spread across the four appellations of Chablis. The grapes grow on the characteristic chalky slopes of Cimmeridgian limestone mixed with Portland clay. Vocoret wines have an unmistakable Chablis profile, characterised by steely minerality, lively citrus aromas and refreshing acidity.
Traditional methods are still used in the cellar. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, while the Grand Cru and Premier Cru wines are aged in oak barrels. Bottling takes place entirely at the winery itself, so you have full control over the quality. With no less than 15 hectares of Grand Cru vineyards, Domaine Vocoret is one of the biggest players in Chablis. They are true to their heritage and their commitment to refined, terroir-driven wines.
