Domaine de l’Arlot
Domaine de l’Arlot, located in the famous wine region of Nuits-Saint-Georges, has an impressive history dating back to the early 19th century. Originally founded by the Morey family, it was under the leadership of the Desvignes family in the 20th century that the domaine began to develop its distinctive style. Today, Domaine de l’Arlot is known as one of the leading domains in the Côte de Nuits, under the inspired leadership of experienced oenologist Sylvain Pitiot.
The domaine covers about 14 hectares. Get is spread across a selection of some of the most prestigious plots in Nuits-Saint-Georges and the surrounding region. Domaine de l’Arlot’s vineyards are best known for their Pinot Noir wines. These excellently reflect the rich flavour of the Côte de Nuits. The domaine owns parcels in both the famous Premier Cru vineyard Clos de l’Arlot and several other parcels located both in Nuits-Saint-Georges and in the nearby communes.
Domaine de l’Arlot follows an organic and biodynamic approach to viticulture, focusing on respect for nature and biodiversity. The vines are pruned by hand. The domaine uses ecological methods to ensure the health of the vineyards. The grapes are harvested manually, with only the ripest and healthiest grapes selected for winemaking. Vinification is done with a subtle balance between tradition and modernity. Natural yeasts are used for fermentation. The wines mature in oak barrels, part of which is new wood.
The style of Domaine de l’Arlot’s wines is one of finesse and complexity. The wines have an elegant structure, with delicate aromas of red fruit, spices and a distinctive minerality that reflects their origins in the chalky soils of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The wines have excellent ageing potential, with fine tannins and depth of flavour developing over the years.
