The domaine farms nearly eight hectares of vineyards, located on the rich clay and limestone soils of Chablis. These include three Grand Cru vineyards (Blanchot, Les Clos and Valmur) and six Premier Cru (Montée de Tonnerre, Les Vaillons, Butteaux, Chapelot, Mont-Mains and Forêt). Production has always been extremely limited. This makes Raveneau’s wines a true rarity. Critics often call the Forêt one of the domain’s most “open knit” wines, meaning that in the glass it shows its charm more quickly but at the same time retains that traditional “Raveneau accuracy”.
