Made from grapes from Comtes Lafon’s famous ‘monopole’ vineyard. The vines stand on soils of chalky marl with some finer clay, on Comblanchien limestone. Ideal for rich, mineral-rich Chardonnay. Lafon has been working organically since 1995, with official biodynamic certification since 1998. The current, fifth generation continues this philosophy unabated. After all, healthy soil and strong vines are essential for optimal expression of the terroir – and thus for wines of the highest quality. To keep the balance in the vineyards, yields are limited and soils are ploughed regularly so that the roots grow deeper and the vines grow stronger.
