This Santenay Les Charmes is accessible, fresh and fruity without being sweet. The red marl in the appellation provides the wine’s fruity character. The grapes are picked by hand. Hoeing is done between the vines so that the soil is aerated and more ‘alive’. It also allows the roots of the vines to grow deeper into the soil. This results in the distinctive taste of the terroir in the wine.
